Freedom?

This past weekend I took my camera into the gun and knife convention. I used to go every year to this with my dad back in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. A lot less monster trucks, machine guns, mullets, and backwoods critters these days. Times have changed but a few good men still take this shit as serious as white bread. Deep in George Bush country. Happy Trails

The weekend; September 16, 2011 was deemed Man’s weekend. One of my best friends toured south from the Alaska oil fields to Portland. We had plans of taking our Harley’s to the hills with everything a man may need strapped on them. You could call it a camping trip, a necessity, or as we like to call it one last indulgence in summers weather. Oregon’s unpredictable weather turned on us as did our bikes. What was once a crew of 4 dudes turned into schedule conflicts and the two of us that were still able to go ended up with broken down bikes from the starting gate. I swear Harley’s break down more then they run; it’s a hard relationship to be in. Luck was not on our side this year for two wheels but as destiny would have it, the weekend turned it a unexpected thrill ride of no plans and good times. Day one started off in a unmarked field in Washington. A police officers weat dream you could call it. Motorcycle club’s the Brothers Speed, Gypsy Joker’s, Outsider’s, Flying 15, Free Soul’s, and Shadow’s battled it out in a demolition derby(see post below).

Day two started with me waking up at 6am and driving to the Oregon coast to meet old fishing buddy Matt Kass. When I arrived he wasn’t home. Either I go fishing alone, crack open some beer’s and take a nap on the river behind his cabin, or do what a good friend does and go inside and eat all the smoked salmon. I took the latter option. 3 hours later he shows up with a wild story of being late cause he knew the fish were biting and it was his destiny to do them in. Fast forward a couple hours and we are off to fishing. Shwood sunglasses www.shwoodshop.com and Poler camping gear www.polerstuff.com gave us some new products to try out on our manventure. Great day, great campfire stories……….and not so great luck fishing this time around. Next time we will be hunting cougar, bear, and elk. Happy trails.

Noir Black Forest Table

My first furniture project was to build a coffee table. After hours of sanding, welding hair pin legs, noir stain, and some epoxy resin she sits here. On to the next project.-11-13-18-19

Demolition Derby

This past weekend I got an invite to the Brothers Speed MC Annual demolition derby. The Gypsy Jokers, Free Souls, Shadows, Brothers Speed, Outsiders, and Flying 15 motorcycle clubs battled it out in a field at an undisclosed location in the Pacific Northwest. Bikes, beers, and many a good times to be had.
